Give Me Liberty Shoppe
Don't Tread on Me
When General Christopher Gadsden flew this flag over his troops during the War for Independence, the British full well knew its meaning. When you adorn the motto upon your chest, everyone will know it again.
“Liberty, the greatest of all earthly blessings – give us the jewel and you make take every thing else…. Suspect every one who approaches that jewel.”
Enshrined on the back is a quote from another Lion of American Liberty, Patrick Henry. This speech, given in June of 1788 before the Virginia Ratifying Convention, encapsulates the very essence and importance of individual freedom paired with a watchful eye upon government.
“But we are told that we need not fear, because those in power being our Representative, will not abuse the power we put in their hands.”
As our politicians slowly and systematically hack at and erode away our Liberty, it is critical that we begin to assert our demand for our Just and Right Freedom, as guaranteed by our Founding and its documents.
“I am not well versed in history, but I will submit to your recollection, whether liberty has been destroyed most often by the licentiousness of the people, or by the tyranny of the rulers? …
Whither is the spirit of America gone?
Whither is the genius of America fled?”
Thomas Jefferson
“And I sincerely believe, with you, that banking institutions are more dangerous than standing armies…”
Truer words were never spoken. And how relevant!
Thomas Jefferson embodied everything that a true Liberty-minded person could ever dream of. His gift for writing was only matched by his love of Liberty and the rights of Man. Jefferson knew, through his personal experiences during the Revolutionary War, how very critical the principles of sound money and a responsible, free economy were to the young Union. Now, more than ever, we need to follow the standard set by the classical economists to prevent the further collapse of our ever-devaluing money. Now, more than ever, we need to demand the elimination of those banking establishments whom control our very lives and fortunes. Show those you come in contact with that you stand for these noble ideals, and the you believe in true Liberty!
