About Remember Our Forefathers
“Simply take time to remember our forefathers’ plight.”
Having a deep-seated interest in Libertarian political/economic philosophy, when I heard that line sung in one of the last places I’d ever expect to hear it, I realized instantly that the warning the artist was bellowing to his listeners was the core of the fundamental problems of our society: we have forgotten.
The libertarian writings and speeches of those 18th century patriots provide the dedicated lover of Liberty numerous quotes with which one can create an arsenal to defend and promote a free existence. Immediately after hearing that verse, I thought of the most powerful and succinct warning I had read:
“Liberty, once lost, is lost forever.”
John Adams, Letter to Abigail Adams, 1775
Think about that for just one minute.
After years of proselytizing to coworkers and friends, extolling the virtues of a libertarian existence, I often found myself wondering, “Can I do more?” At that moment -”Simply take time to remember our forefathers’ plight”- after 4 seconds of pure inspiration, I decided to create this site. I figured, Thomas Paine had pamphlets, I’ll start a blog. I cannot imagine that I will ever touch as many with such insight as Paine, however, I sure as hell can try.
“Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people…”
John Adams, A Dissertation on the Canon and Feudal Law
That must be the mission. It must. Those who are in a position to elucidate the truth for the viewing of those who are not, must. And so it begins.
RememberOurForefathers.com is dedicated to the discussion and dissemination of libertarian ideals, both political and economic. There will be no partisan favoritism – for there will be no party line toed, there will be no pussyfooting around issues – everything is fair game.
I invite you to join the discussion.
For Life & Liberty,
